Sober Bride and Groom

Jamie , on May 19, 2019 at 8:52 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
Is there a cute way to tell the wedding guests that the bride and groom would prefer water? I’m trying to think of a cutesy sign for the bar.

What do you mean? Like is the whole thing a dry wedding? We're doing a dry wedding and using martinelli's sparkling cider for the toast. it's a great substitute for alcohol.

I am also confused, do you think guests will buy you drinks? I'd just politely decline anything.
Personally I'll be having a dry wedding, don't be afraid to do a cash bar or go without if you're worried about people behaving.

Not a dry wedding. Our family enjoys drinking and behaves well, not worried about that. Just worried about people buying drinks and wasting them on us. We will not be drinking, just enjoying the day.

I’ve never seen people buy or give drinks to the bride and groom at a wedding. I would just tell the staff or person in charge at the venue. We had staff pay attention to refilling our drinks but not other guests.

I haven't put much thought into this. FH and I don't drink, but we are supplying alcohol for our guests. I don't think it's going to be an issue.

I can say at any wedding I've ever attended, it's never occurred to me to get the groom or bride a drink.

Our wedding party kept a drink in our hand all night (we had an open bar so they weren't paying for it). They weren't asked to, but they offered. Most of the wedding's I've been to the wedding party would offer to get the bride or groom a refill.

Well they shouldn't have to buy drinks at all. But just decline if they offer you something - no big deal.
