so...undergarments?

Private User, on June 7, 2014 at 10:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

What is everyone wearing under their dress?!

I'm wearing the Allure 8800 on the big day, and of course it's very clingy to my body...only one thin satin slip & then a lace overlay, it's actually two separate pieces on top of one another! I ordered a longline bra/corset, which works wonders, but I wanted to have some sort of spanx or shapewear on my bottom half to give it a little oomph...my wedding is in September, so there's a chance it could be hot! What would anyone suggest?! I'm also worried about lines, between the corset & whatever I wear on the bottom! Help!

My dress was fitted as well. I wore the celebrity thing shaper and just inserted pads in my cups . My dress had boning for shape.

Where did you get your longline bra?! My dress isnt fitted on the bottom so unfortunately I have no good advice for that but maybe try some out with a fitted dress before the wedding and be mindful that you don't want to add too much bulk with all the extra 'thinning' layers.

I got mine longline bra at David's Bridals. It wasn't toooo bad price wise plus I knew it would work with my dress. My dress just has a fitted bodice so I didn't have to worry too much about the rest of the look.

I only wore blue sheer panties. My dress was altered perfectly where I didn't need a bra. I thought about shapeware and then changed my mind. Did not want to be uncomfortable for all those hours.

Future Mrs Yocum - I was able to get it at the bridal salon where I got my dress! They ordered it for me, it was around 55 bucks or so. & yeah - that's what i'm worried about, the bulk!

I'm wearing a corset/bustier from Dillards. It's Le Mystere brand, called Sensuelle. I love it because it's sexy, but also functional. It's longer in the front, so can eliminate the need for spanx, etc. Debating on the bottom, but possibly nothing.

This is my dress! I am having bra cups sewn in and wearing white lace cheeky briefs (bought from AE and never before worn) Smiley smile

Edited to add: I did not notice any lines with my undergarmets - the lace is very forgiving of that as long as there are no "bulges"

My dress (Allure 2619) has all the same concerns as yours. I got spanx "power panties" which are mid-waisted shorts. They feel sort of like extra thick nylons and give some extra tummy tucking power and smooth through the hips, but don't come up too far in the back. Depending how far down your long-line bra comes down, you could probably layer the spanx on top of the bra in order to keep lines as smooth as possible.

I'm wearing an no-line underwear ($11!), I really didn't want to be squeezed into some awful contraption, and a NuBra (I've worn these before and they are amazing, for a week or two, until they lose their stickiness, but perfect for one day!) which are $30 at David's Bridal.

Allyson - awesomeeee! I was looking at those, & didn't know if they would work or not. Do they ride up at all? I had read on some of their other products that the legs start to curl up, but the power panties seem to be longer than the others in the leg area...

Thank you so much girl! Smiley smile

& Sarah - great minds think alike Smiley winking you lucky girl! - I asked if I could do that, just sew in some bra cups, but they said it wouldn't give me the proper support, so. Ideally I would've just done that! But nothing can be that simple in life haha

& Caitlin - that underwear looks nice! Have you tried wearing them for a long time...do they roll up on the leg at all? If they don't, they look fantastic!!
