Super September 2014

so mad at myself! Typo on my invites.

Becky, on March 21, 2014 at 11:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

I was so excited to receive my vistaprint invites in the mail that I got for $42 for 90 of them and I read and reread them and had mom read them...and I just realized that in the address for the venue I spelled Minnesota "Minnnesota" ...there are not supposed to be that many "N"s!!!! shoot!

Maybe I can offer a prize for everyone who catches it. Shoot!!! I have plenty of time to reorder, but having to spend that extra money is frustrating when I was so excited to have gotten a deal. ugh.

vent over.

Aww Smiley sad that sucks, wow you got a good deal! Mine were way more on vistaprint. You would think even though they make you approve it, they would double check a spelling for a state.

I'd contact them and ask if theres any options! that stinks Smiley sad i know the feeling. i was SOOOOO scared to order my invites for that reason!! i was like i know i'm gonna forget something, leave something off, or spell something wrong. i know a girl who misspelled her fiance's name on their save the dates! ahh. she even had multiple read it and nobody caught it. so sorry though, like i said i'd contact them and ask for options..cant hurt!

I've reread everything on their site and I know, of course it's my fault. Still deciding if I'm going to reorder or not. Going to have a few people look at them and give me input. Mine aren't a wedding invite, they're actually a Thanksgiving invite and no inserts.

Oh no, I feel for you. That was a good deal! I will go out on a limb and say that most people won't notice. I like the prize idea, or maybe if anyone points it out you can say you did it on purpose because of a private joke between you and FH.

They are for my wedding, I just used a "thanksgiving" invite because it fit my fall theme. There's not turkeys or pumpkins on them, just red and brown flowers. I'm thinking most people won't notice, but I'm going to sleep on it.

I doubt if many will notice, and if they do they do.

it's not like the street address is wrong or something like that.

    it's a honest mistake.

don't feel too bad. after working all night my mom made the poster for my cousins graduation party. it said 'congrations' instead of congraulations! so they just shortened it so it said congrats.

but not after taking a picture of it to tease my mom with for the next forever Smiley smile

Luckily you only spent $42. Some people spend hundreds on invitations.

Try contacting VP to see if there is anything they can do, if not just don't worry about it. Even if people notice, I doubt they would say anything, if they do just blame Vista Print. Smiley winking

I doubt anyone will notice lol my nieces first birthday had a banner that said happy birtday. It took three hours for anyone to notice. Lol

I wouldn't send them out with that typo. See if VP is willing to do something, if not reorder. Even if in the end you spend another $42, you are still paying less than most brides Smiley smile

I got my menu cards from Zazzle. They have a promise that you'll love it or they will take it back. Silly me, I did misspell a word. I called them and they immedaitely gave me a credit to reorder.

If it makes you feel any better, I had to read your post three times to figure out what you did wrong. (I didn't read past Minnnesota and didn't read that you said it had 3 ns). When we read, we're not actively reading, our brains just recognize words and tell us what they are. I bet most people won't notice. But like you said, whoever sees it gets a prize!

HOWEVER, part of the job that they do at Vistaprint is spell check. They should have caught it and called you. I would call and see if they can reprint them for free since they missed it during their spellcheck. Or maybe you can get a discount for reordering.

I would have them reprinted since its your wedding invite. It's an honest mistake, but something that would bother me. Just my .02.

I haven't figured I'd call Vistaprint. When you order you click on something that says you understand it will be printed exactly as it appears and they do not check them. I still haven't decided what to do....

I had a typo on our directions cards. We went ahead and reordered new ones and out a cute little saying on it and we are mailing them on Monday. We're humans and we miss things. I freaked out when I first saw it but now it's just whatever

I would contact them still and see if there is a way they could reprint them for you. (Even for a small fee) To be honest, it's not that big of a typo and I probably wouldn't have even noticed. Good luck!

That sucks! I don't think I would reorder them. Kind of a quirky thing ppl can talk about if they even notice. It's not it looks like you don't know how to spell. Just looks like a typo!

Trust me, your guests will notice but if it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it!

I usually catch stuff like that right away and it took me a few minutes. It's gotta be frustrating (I read every word and spelled it aloud to make sure they were all right before ordering mine) but not too many people will notice. I would save the money! Also, it's something you can laugh about years down the road. A co-worker of mine has been married to her hubby for over 25 years and she said they had his middle name wrong on the invites and no one noticed LOL
