So anyone else not having bridesmaids/groomsmen

Lauren, on May 3, 2016 at 8:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 33

So my fiancé and I both are not having bridesmaids and groomsmen. So many people are like "what"???? But I honestly don't have anyone I want up there with me. Anyone else flying solo ?

No.. But if I could have a do-over I would probably choose not to have a bridal party. It's one less thing to worry about and stress about!

I will most likely be flying solo! My FH is pretty adamant about our wedding being about us, so he is really against the idea of having any bridal party, but I would really like to have a MOH at least. We shall see!

We are not only not having them...we are walking out together...my "father" threw me out at 15 so he isn't even invited and I don't want to pick from 3 stepsons and 3 son in laws...

We're just having 2 girls, 2 guys and my nephew as our ring bearer. Sometimes I honestly feel it would be less work to not have anyone. Nothing against my bridal party, they have been lovely. It's just even with only 2 people coordination and planning becomes more difficult. If I could start over with planning I would highly consider not having a bridal party, at least it's worth considering it. It's not for everyone but I can see why people choose that option.

I am not having one either. My gals have still been helping me because they rock. But no party. Small ceremony and big reception. It's what we wanted. There were some hurt feelings but everyone is ultimately okay. Edit words are hard

Unless my best friend can make it into town for the wedding (won't know till a few weeks before the wedding) we won't have anyone stand up with us. If she can make it I will have her and FH will have one on his side.

At each of my wedding's, we've had only one female attendant and one male. (At my first wedding, I had my sister as my attendant; at my second, we jointly had my two children.) But not having any at all would be just fine, if you don't have people you desperately want to have there. Having too few is definitely better than having too many!

We are having our 3 boys, he has 2 & I have one. I am an older than average Bride, and its my fiancés 2nd wedding......over the years, I have heard many bridesmaids complain about how expensive it is, and all the responsibilities, so I just decided to save everyone the hassle, they can cut cake instead!! lol

Not a BP. Just a MOH and Bestman. That's not a party, just our 2 closest friends to stand up with us and sign the certs.

My husband and I didn't have a bridal party either! I personally hate being in a bridal party - so much stress! So I didn't want to do that to other people. I don't agree with telling other people what they MUST wear to a wedding (or to anything else for that matter... yes, yes, I know we (in bridal parties) end up doing what the bride wants out of the love of our hearts, but I still don't agree with it) or putting responsibility on other people for things I/we want, so a bridal party was not for us.
