sns nails vs shellac vs acrylic tips

2ndtime1stwedding, on April 29, 2018 at 9:14 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
So I have had acrylic tips many times in my life-they wreck your real nails
i have had shellac once. I like how long it lasted but it wrecked my real nails.
What about SNS? Does it wreck real nails? Last long?

my natural nails can grow long. BUT getting all 10 of them to be similar in longer length at same time is rare. Usually about 7 will be long while 3 will have broken.
Right now I have 5 longer, 5 short down to my finger tips cuz they broke in the last 10 days.

I’ve mostly done shellac and now they don’t last more than 1.5 weeks for me. I tried SNS the first time last year and they lasted at least 3 weeks without losing any shine. It is more expensive than shellac, but I wouldn’t say they wreck your nails.

I also have natural nails that will get really long but like you said it's hard to have all 10 long at the same time. My solution that I have found to that is I will cut them all off and if I take really good care of them they will grow evenly and not break. Keep them polished with a good base coat, polish and top coat and filed neatly. As soon as they start to chip and I let them go they start to break again. I made the extra effort before my wedding.

SNS wrecks your nails if you decide to stop getting them done. They basically grind off the top layer of nail.

I do the SNS powder. The first time I had them done I had a set of tips put on just so they’d be the same length and shape. Then as the grow it becomes my natural nail. I like it because it doesn’t use the UV light. They say it’s supposed to be better for your nails then acrylic or gel. I can usually go 3 weeks at least between manicures.

SNS is really durable and lasts awhile, 2-3 weeks. I don’t think it’s bad for your nails, and definitely good to not use the UV light

That’s the thing. I’m a low maint lady. I don’t ever do my nails. My toes stay painted all the time but I do them myself and after so many years I’m good at it.
if I got my nails done it would literally be just for wedding and honeymoon.
    I would not maintain it.
Just like tips and shellac, I wore them for the event/need them got them removed at salon. However my nails were so weak and thin and gross after.

I've never had acrylic done in my life but I used to do gel.
I can contest that dip powder is the way to go! I never have problems with peeling unlike gel. Shoot if I wanted to leave them on forever I probably could. My nails are pretty healthy compared to before !
These are my nails about 2.5 going on 3 weeks

Yeah that's how mine were when I stopped doing SNS. They look lovely and they do last a long time, but it took about 2 months for my nails to be strong again. Smiley sad

It’s a powder that they dip the nails into.

SNS is amazing in my opinion. I have them done every four weeks and they are all my real nails. I have taken them off completely for a few weeks and I didn’t notice any weakness or anything. Waay better than gel or acrylic
