Snacks to add to candy table?

Aubrey, on April 24, 2019 at 4:16 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
We are having a casual, fun wedding and are having a candy table, but my mom and I decided we needed to add a few actual food items to the candy table to provide a snack for the guests waiting to eat while we take photos. We were thinking nuts maybe? Not sure what else. Again, this is a very kid friendly and not formal wedding. Hit me with your suggestions!

Pretzels could work, also. Maybe popcorn? Are you going for savory with the sweet?

Chips and dip or chips and salsa always go over well! otherwise I agree the nuts, pretzels, and popcorn would all be great.

We are having a wedding with a similar vibe. Casual, tons of kids around and our venue doesn’t allow alcohol. So instead of a cocktail hour, we will have a “Social hour” while we take a few pics. We are going to do a chips and salsa bar with Aguas frescas to drink and hopefully it keeps everyone busy for 45 mins or so

Just my opinion but I think you should separate the candy table from the snack/cocktail hour table

Make sure to find out about guests’ allergies— nuts are a super common allergen. If there was a bowl of nuts out on a table with other snacks, I wouldn’t be able to eat anything on that table due to cross contamination concerns.

If this is for cocktail hour, yes you definitely need more than candy. Chips and dips are a good option, veggies, cheese and crackers, charcuterie (salami, pepperoni etc)
