Smaller Ceremony, What's After?

Chelsea, on April 15, 2020 at 5:00 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 6

For folks that are planning to have a smaller ceremony with minimal/immediate family due to the virus or maybe just parents/children, are you planning anything for immediately after the ceremony? Cake? Food at Home? Curious to know how/if folks are hosting in this small setting or is it more "thanks for coming we love you, stay safe, bye"?

Thankfully our venue is letting us have our super small ceremony there with just family. We will take pictures then go to my parents to eat! Working on getting it catered and hoping my cake lady can still make a mini cake for us! My dad has gotten so excited about it and it already hanging lights in the backyard haha. I’m wearing my dress and everything because even though it isn’t what I envisioned, I still want to feel like a princess that day! ❤️

Oh my goodness how lovely! Your dad sounds like the sweetest! You totally.should feel like a princess that day ❤ we were struggling with doing something smaller at our venue knowing that quite a few folks may not be able or willing to travel and would feel a bit slighted on not being there in person. Thinking we might do a viw renewal next year and then cake/light food afterwards this year.

We were thinking a vow renewal too but with so much uncertainty and stress from life in general that is likely to happen for us personally we aren’t planning anything yet Smiley sad but I looove vow renewals I think they are so beautiful ❤️ I definitely think cake and food afterwards with those who can come would be so much fun! Then time for the at-home-honeymoon lol 😂😂

Maybe order takeout from one of your favorite restaurants and have some cake or desserts? I think that would be lovely

We had a small backyard ceremony with immediate family only. Then we ordered Olive Garden and ate. Drank a little. Had music in the background. Turned the music up slightly and danced with each other. We were supposed to have 150 people reception. We made the best of it. Got married March 28th.
