Anyone else have a small wedding and know how to have a nice formal wedding for a very small guest list? I thought about going to the courthouse but I want an actual wedding.

You might have better luck! When we were looking for venues pre-pandemic it was challenging because most wedding venues would not accommodate smaller weddings, especially on a Saturday. Now I’m seeing venues offering micro wedding packages since Covid.

I am having a small wedding, but still am going all out, 25 guest total. We are getting married at a wedding venue that is more like a boutique hotel. They offer in house catering which made planning easier ($35 pp included 3 appetizers, 1 salad, 2 entrees; chicken and beef)(11pp alcohol 3 hours open bar beer and wine). We will have a harpist at the ceremony, and an ice cream catering company. The venue was only $2,500, and th

Why not have the reception in a private room at a gorgeous hotel or restaurant? You won’t even really need decor!

    We're considering either 1) a restaurant reception or 2) renting a house.

Our guest list is 44 but probably only 35 people will come. We are renting a Victorian Mansion, that fits our family and also doubles as our wedding venue. They also have a chef that you can hire for catering, all the incidentals, tables, chairs, linen, clean up and set up. Maybe you can find something similar? We are also doing a brunch wedding, that way food and alcohol costs are cheaper, and we have more time to spend with our family and friends later in the night.

That’s definitely an idea. There are a few options in my area, hopefully they open back up soon and I can get pricing.

I’m having a minimony this year with 15 people at a historic church and then reception at my in-laws house by their pool.

I’m considering this too! My original date is in December and I may cancel the venue. My mom has cancer and I don’t know if I want to have her in a crowded room of 150 guests with this virus 😭

We are having 50-60 guests. I found a state park with an indoor shelter to rent for less than half the going rate of a wedding venue. We also rented the amphitheater in the state park for an outdoor ceremony. I actually found it by looking at wedding pictures online.

Mine will probably end up being about 15-20 people too. I’m kinda considering the backyard for reception...

This is us as well! Our guest list is only at 24 people (this includes fiancee and I AND our friend/photographer). We are either looking into have our ceremony outside at a park or in the mountains (we are next to lyons, CO). Then renting a cabin on VRBO for the reception. Amazing pros are it's cheaper, you can do your own decor, have a whole day to set up, no time limit, and you can sleep there. Smiley smile
For food we are going to cook our own, looking out for those amazing deals on bogo ribs, pork, chicken, etc. Smiley smile

I think we’re going to have about 28 guests, we’re doing a regular ceremony and reception with that amount. I think you can still have a nice and more intimate time with fewer guests. If you’re worried about finances you could always limit the dishes you have to cut back on money. Maybe you can find a nice place to cater or book out part of a restaurant? Either way, I’m sure your guests will appreciate you trying to make the day nice for them, and yourselves.

    Hello. Congratulations!!
While looking for a chapel I noticed that mist places will do a small wedding for a small fee if the guess list is under 50. They call it elopement. Also, for a reception of 30 people, you can have a small dinner at a restaurant.
    That’s very interment. Good luck!!

I am! We got a good deal on a venue. A lot of vendors in my city are offering discounts for elopement sand micro-weddings. We’re doing a brief wedding and reception with 20 family members.

Nice! I heard about micro-weddings. I didn’t know they called that eloping.
