Hello WW, I would like to hear from those who had weddings or planning a wedding with around 20-25 people. How did it go??? Any suggestions as far as a small reception also. We are thinking of only having immediate family there.

I have been to small weddings before and it was a lot of fun! Very personal and intimate. There was a total of 30 people.

I am also curious about a small wedding. We will have 25-30 guests (many family) & we are older; our ceremony will be in a small classroom in our church. Our “reception” will be sheet cake and who knows what yet to drink. Not sure how to decorate the room - and there are no windows. We weren’t going to have music but now think we need something playing as I walk to the front of the room. Is music through a Bluetooth speaker bad? Not trying to be cheap but does it seem that way?

My FH and I are planning a small destination wedding in Gatlinburg. We live just outside of Nashville so it’s about a 4 hour drive. I have a huge extended family and my FH has a pretty big extended family as well, but we decided small and intimate was the way to go. Basically it will be our immediate families (our children, parents, siblings, nieces/nephews), my grandparents, and then I am including an aunt that I’m very close to and two cousins that are like sisters. And he is including his best friend and my two best friends. Guest list totals right about 30. We’ve decided we have to not invite the children of our friends because that adds too many and we go over the max, but we are hoping that won’t be an issue even though there will be a couple of family children there.
Our wedding party is his teenage twins (his son as best man and his daughter as MOH) and my 8 year old daughter as flower girl.
We are having a basic reception with hors d’oeuvres and cake. Entire thing will be about 2 hours. We chose a venue in Gatlinburg that is all inclusive so venue, catering, photography, officiant, decor, flowers are all included. Small and intimate all the way! 😁

Music with a bluetooth speaker is perfectly fine. A lot of people do that. Your wedding plan sounds low-key and lovely. Just make sure it's not at a meal time and you'll be good to go!
