Any ladies with a small budget planning a nice wedding? My and my fiancé have a budget of $7000. I let his mom talk me into asking her sister be our planner as she (MIL) told me that she could do a really nice wedding for about $6000. She’s a delta soror and plans school/college functions. Well...
Any ladies with a small budget planning a nice wedding? My and my fiancé have a budget of $7000. I let his mom talk me into asking her sister be our planner as she (MIL) told me that she could do a really nice wedding for about $6000. She’s a delta soror and plans school/college functions. Well after talking with her, she says I need about 9-10,000 and I feel as if she’s almost trying to discourage me out of a wedding. Me and my fiancé already have 2 kids together with one on the way in August. Our wedding is March of next year. She things with the baby on the way we should just get married at the court house and then have a reception afterwards. But that’s not what I want to do. I need some advice, tips, ANYTHING because clearly no one else is on my side here

My budget with my fiance is about 5000. We're renting a state park amphitheatre- $330 for 9 am to 5 PM, and the gathering center in the park for the reception -seats 75, $275 for 9 am to 10 PM. We're having fazolis cater, I'm making 90% of the decorations. The corsages/boutonnieres and bouquets are sola wood flowers and my dress and veil was 500 bucks. So far, we are well under budget. People who know us know we dont want anything big or extravagant and its more of a cookout/family gathering type of feel to it.

If it's what you want and what you can afford, screw what she says. You cant pull a rabbit out of a hat and if she really wants to help, she'll work with what shes got! Stay firm on what your looking for, girly.

Dont worry about little things like guest books or favors
You can find really cheap invitations. Get creative with your centerpieces flowers are expensive so try not to use them.
Look online for pre owned dresses
    Do your own make up
If you are really in a crunch make a playlist and skip the DJ
All inclusive venues are defenitly more affordable
    Good luck

My wedding is $5,500. Our venue was cheap. The most money is going into food. Our guest list is at 55 people. We won free photographers. Our DJ is $500 for 4 hours. Skip out on party favors & expensive decors. Make sure your venue Is beautiful and needs minor decors and provides all linen and utensils. DIY your centerpieces. Grab a cake from your local grocery store and do cupcakes on the side. Shop your dress on clearance. Go casual on the tuxes. Get your flowers from Costco or Trader Joe’s.

She not lying depending on what you want in it you will have to increase your budget.. I started at $7k then I increased it to $12k now it’s $10k. Photographer, flowers, and catering will cost the most ... I say if you have the time doing some things yourself then do it .. Also do silk flowers
