Slip or no slip??

Lauren, on January 11, 2020 at 2:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
How do I know if I need a slip?? I can post photos if it’s easier but my dress is an A line with a tulle skirt

Pictures would definitely help if you can post them Smiley smile. I usually vote pro-slip but I found that my dress doesn’t need one. So it’s hard to tell without a reference

Depends on if you want some extra volume. With an a line, you might not need to "fluff" it out so much. Post a picture because we all love looking at dresses!

And it’s not necessarily that you need one, but they make the skirt fuller, and can make it easier to walk (as the skirt doesn’t get between your legs and catch).

    Hi Lauren,
Congratulations, your stylist or seamstress will help answer that, it would depend on how sheer the dress is, and if you're wearing a body shaper or panties!

The skirt feels a little different than tulle. It’s like softer I’m not sure what it’s made of

Ooh, gorgeous! It might be a different weave of tulle. Honestly, looking at it, I think even a mermaid slip would help you get a little lift from your feet and more of a float effect. A ballgown slip would probably be too much fluff.

I’d try a petticoat on just to see what it looks like! I’m wearing a mermaid style dress that has a full ruffled skirt. I wanted to see what it’d look like with a mermaid petticoat and ended up loving it! My dress is super full with the petticoat underneath!

I’ve never seen a wedding dress that needed a slip. And if it has tulle, I would say it doesn’t need one, unless you’re wearing one for comfort.
