Slip and/or Spanx? Where to buy a slip

CoffeeNColor, on May 15, 2017 at 11:52 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

My dress is A-Line. I've heard you should have a slip to keep the dress from getting caught between your legs? Can you combine a slip with spanx? Or should you choose one or the other? I want spanx to absorb thigh sweat.

My dress has some crinoline at the bottom to give it volume, but I'm wondering if I need more.

Where is a good place to buy an a-line slip?

Gah!! I am so clueless about these things!

Here is a pic of my dress:

Spanx makes some slips that might be worth looking into. I like wearing spanx with dresses that come in at the natural waist with a belt because it makes the dress lay very smoothly! You could also ask your seamstress for advice.

Your dress is gorgeous, by the way! It looks great on you.

But can you combine the spanx shaping shorts with a slip?

You certainly can combine if you want, consider the shaping shorts essentially underwear, and you can build layers on top of that.

I might make an appointment to try the dress on again and walk around in it, over a distance, to see if it gets caught up in your legs (maybe take a friend along to video it so you can see if you like the look). The under layers of the dress itself might be stiff enough to let the dress keep its shape when you move.

The slip I'm looking at has a spanx type top portion. I will likely get some spanx shorts to prevent chaffing.

    All of the tummy control.

@FMR2018 where did you found a slip with a spanx on the tummy? I want to have the waist of a bee!! Smiley smile

@OP I have seen slips I believe on etsy, no idea about the spanx/slip. I guess they can be worn separately.
