Sleeves or Coverup?

Kristen, on December 28, 2020 at 9:42 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 14
So I just said yes to the dress (ahh!) - I truly love the dress but I am getting married in January in NJ so it will be cold! Looking for opinions on the best option for coverage (adding sleeves, shawl, scarf, etc.)Sleeves or Coverup? 1

Omg your dress is perfection on you!! If you’re getting married in January, I am assuming the wedding will be indoors in a heated environment; so are you just worried about being cold walking From your vehicle to the venue? If so, I definitely would not alter your dress in anyway. I would just get something to wear over it during those few short moments. Maybe a faux fur or ostrich wrap, jacket, cape, etc?

Ughhh I LOVE your dress. It hugs you in the right places 😉 i would just do a shawl or the fur wrap rather than changing up the dress

Many makers offer illusion netting upper bodice, back and sleeves, made to go with your gown, they just do not picture them. Or they sell ones that button over your gown, up the back from a waist seam up, with lave or illusion net with appliques. And big wedding stores offer generic ones. If your gown has a particular lace or woven in pattern, you want to match it. But if your gown has plain illusion, or sheer net, or satin or similar no pattern fabric, any seamstress can make an illusion cover up or can send to the company and buy a yard or so of fabric. For this, let them know before the gown comes, or order from salon.

This is an illusion cover up. Your company may sell them, an Etsy makers too. Good for if it is drafty indoors too. Capes and shawls are great outside, but venues with lots of glass can be chill for your whole reception.

Under the veils are accessories like illusion jackets, shawls, capes. Most makers have an assessories section like this.

I would have loved a long faux Lynx. I saw one in Montreal, I wanted so much, and it was gone by the time I shifted things to get the money!

    Beautiful dress!

Is your wedding inside? I would choose a wrap.
