Sleepless Nights

Nefetera, on March 6, 2020 at 1:39 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
I don't know why every night around 12am till about 2 sometimes 3am Iam restless and can't sleep. Ever since grad school and me planning my wedding i tend to be having these days every night where im up on mu phone checking on my grades, talking to my little brother or bff about the wedding or looking at my calendar to see what's up next lol i hate this bc by the time i get ready for work in the am im sooo tired and I feel drained. Anyone else experiencing this??? The lack of sleep??? Wedding planning during the am - and worried? Personal life doesn't help lol

I used to have insomnia and my doc put me on sleeping meds BUT before that people were suggesting to exercise before sleep because it would tire you out

I'd set limits with your phone at night so you always go to bed at a certain time. Sometimes exercise (if you workout at all) during the day can help with sleeping, but also meditation before bed can help too. Things like melatonin can help with sleeping too, and creating a calming environment in your room (lavender candles or essential oils, humidifier, blackout curtains, comfy sheets, etc.). I'd really focus on your health and sleeping even if it means not texting people past 9PM or watching TV or checking grades. If these things don't work, I'd consult a doctor. But insomnia is a horrible thing to deal with (my husband does and my father does) that can really have negative results on your health and it can last a very long time.
