Slacking.

Amanda, on December 3, 2019 at 9:12 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

We are a little over 200 days out and I've been slacking on wedding duties. Has anyone else hit this slump yet? It's not that I have everything done, I just haven't been putting things on my priortiy list lately. Maybe after the holidays it will come around and we will be back into full swing with planning.

I think it’s great (and healthy) to take a break. I’m sure you’ll get going again after the holidays.

I agree with PP !! It’s okay! Take a mental break - then get back into it after the holidays !!

The date for daughter and SIL's wedding was set about 17 months before. She was super busy for the first 4-6 months of planning, finalizing all the big vendors, etc. She had a few things to take care of in the 9-12 month window before the wedding, but then, there wasn't much to do in the 4-9 month window. Things got crazy again as soon as she hit the 4 month mark, and we had a small panic attack at 2 months when suddenly all the things we could "do last minute" had to be done RIGHT NOW!!!!! Especially with a longer engagement, there will definitely be "ebbs and flows." Enjoy the holidays, and rest up while you can! Smiley heart

I 100% hit that slump during my planning process. I decided, because I still had plenty of time away from my wedding day, to take a break. I took just about a month off from doing anything for the wedding. I came back and got the rest of it done and ready to go. Now, I'm just under 90 days away and am just tying up loose ends on wedding favors and smaller things along those lines.

Fellow June 2020 bride here! I most definitly feel you!! I haven't done anything wedding related in weeks! I'm also in the last two weeks of my study program so I really don't have the energy to add to that! But I guess once I graduated and the holidays are over I will have more time again. Good luck!

I had a bad planning slump a few months ago. I honestly think breaks are essential! Use the time to recuperate so you can return to planning refreshed. Don't burn yourself out! Especially with the holidays, I think you deserve a break Smiley smile

My wedding is November 7, 2020 and I’ve kind of put everything off because of the holidays too. I think you should be okay to hold off until after when things become calmer again 😊
