Skipping the rehearsal dinner

LanaKane, on June 9, 2017 at 6:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

All but 3 people in our wedding party are OOT. Some are driving in the morning of the wedding so i was thinking of skipping the rehearsal dinner. Technically we're all OOT as the wedding is taking place 2.5 hours from us but the rest of the wedding party are 5-10 hours away from the venue. Has anyone skipped their rehearsal dinner? How did your wedding go without it?

We will be. It's not rocket science. You walk down the space between two groups of chairs, stand there for a few minutes, turn around, and walk back out. We will probably run through it quickly a little before guests are due to arrive.

If you don't require their presence at a rehearsal, you don't need a rehearsal dinner.

We skipped it and did the rehearsal 30 mins before the ceremony and it went just fine. Most people know how a ceremony entrance goes so it's not hard

@MrsKoalajetski and @StPaulGal I never thought about doing a run through the day of. I'm going to ask my venue coordinator if that's possible. By then everyone should have arrived. Thanks for the suggestion
