Skipping save the dates?

Courtney, on March 18, 2018 at 1:42 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15
Hey all! I was wondering... How tacky is it to skip the save the dates? Our only out of town guests are my grandma and Aunt, and my mom's sister. All of who I discuss all the wedding details with Smiley smile so they know the date. Would it be bad to skip the save the dates? Thank you in advance!

Not tacky at all. They aren't required. We just passed our date via word of mouth.

Save the Dates aren't really required - I sent them out because 75% of our guests are out of town, but if you don't have that many out of towners I'd say go ahead and skip them.

I am in the same situation. I think what I will do is to skip the save the date.

Not tacky at all. I just used them because we're getting married during a popular weddingseason

I would have loved to skip them but 90% of our guests are out of town/country. Save your money. Maybe send the invites a week earlier?

We skipped the STD's. Saved some money, and most of the people who will be getting invitations already know when and where the wedding is.

Thank you all ladies! I really appreciate the input. I think we're just going to go ahead and skip the save the dates! Save our money for a more important detail. Thanks again!!

We aren’t sending Save the Date cards. Most of our guests are local. It is totally okay to skip Smiley smile

No, not tacky at all because STDs are not necessary. They're helpful if you have a lot of OOT guests or a holiday wedding but if you're not having either of those, no need to send.

I would love to skip save the dates but we have many out of town guests. I made one myself for free online and ordered prints at the pharmacy so I didn’t spend a ton of money. Came out great!

I didn’t send out Save the Dates. For the out of towners Which I don’t have many, I just called them to let them know the date.

We are not doing then. They lock you into your guest list and some guests are fluid. No problem in skipping them!

Nope, I just attended a wedding in which they did not send save the dates. I didn't really even notice or care!

It's not tacky at all! We're skipping them. All of my OOT guests know the date already and it's a relatively small wedding. We'll just be sending out the invites a bit earlier.
