Skipping Grand Exit

Courtney, on January 23, 2020 at 6:55 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
Is anyone skipping the grand exit photo? I've thrown around the idea of sparklers, glow sticks, bubbles but in the end I really don't want to spend the extra money.

We will have a lighted pathway leading to area where dance floor will be outside. I thought of sneaking away with FH and taking a picture by ourselves before the photographer leaves. I just hope it will be dark at 8 pm. It says that sun should set around 730 in April. I also thought of us holding one of the bags like the Tangled photo OP at Disney.

We aren’t doing a grand exit; we’re sticking around to help clean up/pack up the venue

We didn't do a grand exit. We had a last dance. It started out with just the two of us dancing to a slow song then we invited our guests on the floor with us. We picked a song I liked for our first dance, but ultimately didn't use as we had another song we liked better. We had a special effect that was used for 3 songs during the night which was fog and it looked like dancing on clouds. That effect was used for our first dance, a random song, and then our last dance song. After that, those who wanted to joined us for an after party at a bar.

We didn't do a grand exit. To be honest, I've never actually been to a wedding with a grand exit, and ive been going to a lot of weddings lately lol.

I've been to one that did the sparklers, but that was 3 years ago. I know it is a great photo opportunity, but I worry that everyone will leave! We have venue until midnight, but photographer will leave at 8.

You can do a mock grand exit for photo purposes only. That way you get your photos without having to pay for extra photography hours.

Nope. Not doing a grand exit. Just going to casually end the night. We’re having a domestic destination wedding in Vegas, so there’s nowhere for us to really “exit” off to (since most of our guests will be staying in the same hotel casino where the wedding took place). Also after the reception, we’ll probably meet up at one of the hotel’s bars for “after party” mingling.

Same with us, logistically a grand exit simply wouldn't work. We just can't leave the venue before everyone else.
