We are having one heck of a time deciding what we want to do for our menu. I like the idea of a sit down meal the best, but I dislike the way our venue offers it. They recommend that you do one meal for everybody, so it would likely be chicken to please everyone and keep cost reasonable (plus the roasted statler chicken in pan gravy sounds yup). If we wanted to give people an additional option, it would be $2 per person plus the extra headache of organizing who ordered what. This fee does not apply towards our minimum. All sit down meals come with a served salad, soup, and red velvet cake. If we only offered one meal to everybody (exclusion being vegetarians), this is the cheapest option.

Then we have the buffet option, we are allowed to pick 3 entrees (think, a chicken, pork and seafood dish), three accompaniments (pasta, potato and vegetable). This also includes the served, soup, salad and cake for dessert. This is This is slightly more costly than the served meal option.

I agree moonride about the stations seemingly missing something. I think it's very odd that my venue does not offer a vegetable to go with the meal if we were to chose the stations option. I also think the options don't necessarily work well together. These are our stations options and we would have to pick 3: carving, pasta, potato, calamari, nacho bar.

The carving would be a given, but then you would either have to do two starches or pasta and pizza which are similar. You could also add in calamari or nachos which I don't believe fits in with the rest of the meal.
