Sisterlocked Bride

AEW, on July 26, 2019 at 12:13 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7

Hi Hi everyone

I'm a naturalista kinda girl and so I have sisterlocks. I've been scouring the net and beyond trying to find something that I like to try out for my wedding and I'm having a rough go at it. By the time the wedding comes, my locks will be just a little past the middle of my back so length is good. I could pretty much do anything - all up, half up or all down but I just can't seem to decide. Any suggestions?

I'm personally a sucker for half up half down! I would definitely talk to your hair stylist or a hair stylist friend to get their opinion on what they think would go with your gown or the theme of your day. I find myself often with no idea of what I want but my stylist knows how to talk through it and come up with something great!

    Thanks Kayla

I have talked to her about styling but she's not my regular stylist. I've relocated from St. Thomas and so I'm usually the one doing my own hair. She did my hair for a pageant I was in about 3 years ago so she's familiar with my type of hair. I've been looking online for "inspiration" pics so I could get a general idea of what to do with it. But nothing has jumped out at me yet so I guess I'll keep looking.

Sister locks are so nice and flexible. They should be able to go into any style. Google image search has been better for me to search natural wedding hairstyles than pinterest

There are a lot of gorgeous ideas on Pinterest for sister lock updo's and half-up-do's. I would for sure ask your stylist and go with what will look best with your dress! Regardless of how you end up styling your hair it is going to be stunning.

I think it kind of depends on your dress neckline and what's most flattering. Sister locs are soooooo versatile that I don't think it really matters.

I personally like sister locs in updos

Thanks Bethany! I agree and I think I'll more than likely just do this as a base and see how it looks with some of it up. My dress is strapless and everything will be on a beach so I don't want to lose my curls from humidity. I think it may be okay because my hair is locked but I'll definitely have to do a trial run to see. Fingers crossed!
