Sister in law trouble

Boohoo8812, on June 9, 2019 at 10:31 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 4
We just found out today that my FH's sister is now getting married the same month, year, and place as us. She knew it was our plan to get married that month. I'm worried that his family will just focus on her wedding and not care about ours. Now I'm wondering whether I should move it to this fall or keep the date of next fall. On one hand we have been waiting years to marry and have most of it planned just nothing bought yet. On the other hand if we wait till next year I will be 21 for my bachelorette party and my bridesmaid will be 18. Help me decide

It sounds like you've already planned a good chunk of your wedding. There is zero reason to change your plans just because someone else is getting married too. However, if you'd really like to move it up, so be it. It just doesn't sound like it would be for the right reasons.

I say don't budge. Don't let the sister feel like she's won!

I would keep plans. Fist most likely they will not have a date this fall. If you hired other vendors they may be all booked up this fall. Then your whole wedding dress getting it done in time. Having guest switch plans short notice.

Stick to your original plan. As pp said, you will likely have trouble booking the venue for this Fall, getting your dress in time, etc. Not to mention it will rush all of the other plans.
