Silver or Gold Accent Color

Eshell, on August 7, 2020 at 8:51 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
Hello Everyone and any person that this their area of expertise! Question: How did you all decide your accent color for your /a wedding. I decided on base color is Emerald Green and accent is SILVER ; however , our venue wall is like taupe/coffee brown color. So I was wandering if you all think I should make my wedding ACCENT color be GOLD instead. Orrrrr the up lighting from the DJ will help set the mood for the room. I am here thinking not sure how the silver will look in the room with that color wall.

When choosing colors, it is always easiest to work with the decor of your venue, rather than trying to fight against it. Do you have a picture of your venue space?

Silver was one of our accent colors because I prefer silver, but our venue had a lot of gold accents. You couldn't tell as much though with the uplighting.

We are using silver as our accent color even though gold would probably match the room "better". We will also have uplighting, so like the pp said, I don't think it's too noticeable with the uplighting

Silver is one of my accent colors, and our venue has dark brown wood on the walls. We're not super concerned about it, since there will be uplighting on the walls. If you're planning to do uplighting, I think you should pick the colors you want, since I don't think it'll be too noticeable.

Sorry, clarifying my last sentence of my post: it won't be too noticeable if the colors you pick don't match the venue.

I based mine off my dress. Because it isn't white and is more of a champagne color I chose to go with gold as my accent color because it complements my dress best. I'm so glad I did because it has kind of become a focal point in my color scheme along with some other mixed metallics

My fiancé is a firefighter & he wanted the colors to reflect that. We chose red, charcoal & cream. Some table cloths will be red & others charcoal but they will all have a glittery, silver runner. With the brick, vines & exposed beams, it’s beautiful!Silver or Gold Accent Color 1
When you described yours, I can picture the gold playing off better than the silver. Especially with that coffee/taupe wall. That mint color with the gold will be awesome!

I think silver sounds fine for emerald and brown

Maybe consider gold cause it sounds like the walls would match better. I decided on silver because my colors are all light (sky blue & white) so silver fits with the winter wonderland theme

My colors are navy blue, black. & gold....I just thought gold would look great with navy & black plus our theme is more of a summer night time festival so I thought it'd fit perfectly. Luckily with our venue, we've seen pictures of weddings work with any accent color & it looks great. Judging from your description, I'd say gold would work best.

I think silver would be fine if the room is dark and has uplighting! Keep in mind too that mixing metals are in! Some people mix silver/gold and it looks lovely. We chose gold because of our “theme/vibe.” Ours is roaring 20s (Pandemic and all) so our colors are black, white, red, & Gold! Although my rhinestone jewelry is set in silver but I’m not worried about it!
