Silly Invite Question!

Kelly, on July 2, 2019 at 5:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 20
Did you send an invitation to your parents? I accounted for it when I ordered but after the fact said it's kind of silly! But I know our Mum's will want the sentimental value of it.
What did you all do?

My mom loved getting one. My future mother in law cried when she got her invitation because I guess my fiance’s brother didn’t give her one when he got married. She was so excited!!

Yes, I'm sending everyone who is invited an invitation, including parents and everyone in the bridal party. For me, it's a point of formality. I also need their entree choices for our plated dinner.

I just gave them the invitation suite in person. I felt silly mailing it.

I'm sending one to everyone invited. My mom will likely keep it and have it framed or something. LOL My grandmother kept my parents' wedding invitation for the rest of her life. I have it now. It is a really cool keepsake.

We sent them both an invite. I figured they might want to have them as keepsakes and was nice to bookkeeping just to have the RSVPs in one place.

I am not actually mailing invites to immediate family or the wedding party, but will hand deliver them! Save the envelopes and the postage!!

I love with mine too, my mum saw the package arrive and came to get her save the date before I opened it 🤣

I plan on hand delivering some invitations as well as some save the dates. My parents, my fiance's parents, my grandmother and his grandmother all get hand delivery for save the dates and invitations. And as an added bonus, we save $6.40 in postage right there.

    We did.

Firstly, we have an online RSVP, and we wanted to make sure they had the website.

Secondly, my parents live across the country. We did not mail FILs invite - they live close by, so we just handed it to them.

Plus, we figured they'd want the memento.

Yes, and we're even including RSVP cards. It is silly but I it was a matter of formality to me.

I sent everyone an invitation including our parents and bridal party. I wanted their RSVP to keep track of the head count so I don't forget to count them in. Lol

I stamped all of them and sent to almost everyone, however my dad did me a huge favor and gave me a lift to the airport the day before they were meant to go out, so I gave him his by hand. Smiley smile

My mom helped me a LOT in making, stuffing and stamping them, but hers still went in the mail, too.

Their invites were the same as everyone else's--RSVP card, detail cards, etc. because no way was I trying to keep track of special invites!

Our moms were so excited to get their invites! Plus they're both the sentimental type to hold onto something like that forever. We live in the same town as both of our parents, so we just hand delivered them.

We ordered enough so that our parents and bridal party could still receive invites even though we already knew they were coming. We even hand delivered them instead of sent through mail just to save the money on stamps. As you said its the sentimental value of it.
