Mariah, on August 28, 2017 at 12:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Me and my guy have been discussing the price advantage and longevity of silk flowers but I have never seen any in person and am so i am wondering if any one has used them as well as the pros and the cons

I think a lot of faux flowers look fake. I get all congested with the smell of flowers so we opted to do faux for the bouquets, but to get them to look as real as possible was just about as much as getting real floral work done. My bouquet was gifted to me but I think it was about $80 not including labor hours. Yes you can do a faux bouquet for cheaper but the quality will be less. Check out afloral.com, I hear a lot of good things but can't speak for them myself.

I am currently having this same internal debate. We are booking a nature center for our venue, so I don't want my flowers to look fake (if we go with artificial) and like FME said, cheaper usually means they will look fake. I have actually been looking into floral wholesale places and just doing my own floral arrangements with real flowers. I think if you are creative, you can probably do something like this. Save money and use real flowers! Best of luck!

The venue we are booking has a florist for a great price just when looking into preserving the real flowers it was more expensive than. Buying the silk flowers. I do t really care if they don't look real but I dont want them looking like the ones from dollar tree

I'm planning on doing faux flowers but I agree with PP's they will cost about the same amount as real ones if you go for quality. I'm opting for faux flowers mostly due to allergy concerns.

I have never seen silk flowers done cheaper than real that did not look obviously fake

That said there's nothing wrong with obviously fake if you embrace it

There's part of me that would have done book flowers for me but I wanted more traditional for my bms and didn't like the combination of the two

If you go for silk and try to save money that way, they often won't look like real flowers. And, personally, I don't like the look or feel of silk flowers. Some paper flowers you find can be really pretty. Plus, I think sola wood flowers are gorgeous. They don't look quite "real", but they look attractive.
