Silk flowers vs real flowers

Brittany, on July 17, 2019 at 4:28 PM Posted in Style and Décor 2 13
Hey everyone! I am having an inner dilemma. I am doing a destination wedding in Jamaica on September 19 2020. I originally was going to buy the flowers through sandals however their flowers are super pricey and it’s just not some
where I want to splurge on since Jamaica is beautiful enough and lets face it flowers die. Any who so I am debating on getting flowers off the resort at a local flower shop or getting silk flowers. That way I can have them forever and take them back on the plane with me.

Has anyone used silk flowers? And where did you order them from? Were you happy with your final decision.

I got Mine from budget bride.com I am happy with them. I wanted Dahlias in my bouquet and they do not grow in December and using silk flowers it will last forever and I get my favorite flower. I also got them to paint the tips with gold!

I haven't ordered mine yet, but I found a shop on Etsy (through another bride!) called DressMyWedding. She does real touch silk flowers. They are gorgeous!! They look so real! I've spoken to two brides who have used her flowers, and her prices are really reasonable, and her work is beautiful.

I also didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something that would die after a few days. Now I'll be able to keep my bridal bouquet in its beautiful condition forever!!

I went with foam flowers from lings moments. They’re gorgeous! And the upside to the foam is that if they get squished or anything, just put a hair dryer on low heat for a second and they fix themselves right up!

Keep in mind Silk flowers can cost just as much as real flowers if not even more. I used real flowers. My florist made my bouquet, my 2 bridesmaids bouquets, 5 boutonnieres and 2 corsages. For my centerpieces I got fresh flowers from a local farm.

I've been to Jamaica multiple times and seen people including my mom get married at the sandal resorts. I am now getting married there as well. I 100% think you should spend your money on the jamaican flowers that sandals offers. They are worth the money. They are extravagantly gorgeous. It won't be as beautiful if you go with silk. Trust me. Now I'm just trying to figure out how and if I can preserve mine after... 🤔
