Silk flowers for bridesmaids bouquets?

Alexis, on March 16, 2017 at 11:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

I decided to go the fake flower route for the bridesmaids bouquets, and only use real flowers for my bouquet, the boutonnieres, and the decor (since it's just baby's breath)....but I'm worried the girls will think I'm being cheap/tacky/not caring at all about their flowers. I have attached a picture of one of them I put together (sorry for the poor lighting).

It seems odd to only have their flowers be fake. I'd say go all real or all fake.

I'm actually making my own flowers from Italian crepe paper. There is nothing wrong with being cost effective...

I think it sounds fine. As a bridesmaid I've never cared that much about my bouquet and by the end of the night I don't even know where it is because the alcohol lost it.

I, personally, wouldn't care about real vs fake, but if ONLY the bridesmaid bouquets are fake it seems a little odd

I love the idea of fake flowers! I feel like real flowers cost so much money and you can't even keep them!

It might look a bit odd to only have their bouquets fake, but it's your day so do what you want!

I made their bouquets with the silk so they could be keepsakes or used as decoration in their homes, and I know they guys won't care so I didn't want to put in the effort to make make their boutonnieres

I think it's a little weird. Especially because fake flowers always look fake, and up next to real ones will probably look more fake. I don't think it's something you can't do. If you want to do it this way do it.
