Silent Disco to get around 9:30 pm County Noise Ordinance?

I would find that super odd as a guest. I think I would make the “official” end time 9:30 and let your close friends and family know that there will be an after party. You could use a speaker and phone to play background music and have games or just hang out.

Make your official end time 9:30 and if your friends still want to party, find a local bar to go to! That is what we are doing haha. All of our friends are coming from out of town and we want to spend a ton of time with them. Changing out of my dress of course!

Can you apply for a noise permit? My city has those.

We have a 10:30 pm cut off, which is way too early for us. So we are going to have an after party in a fun part of town, about 20 minutes away from the reception site, with lots of pubs and live bands. I’ll change into a bridal party dress so I can dance all night.

If may be a bummer. I've been to many weddings where the audio equipment was a bit lacking or non existent and people don't tend to dance when they can't feel the music (even my 62 year old dad who loves to dance says so).
I imagine starting the wedding earlier is it out of the question? Headphones with the same playlist could work but is still awkward. I'd move the party elsewhere or see if it's possible to get a permit.

Just to clarify as reading some of these responses it seemed like maybe there's some confusion as to what a silent disco is...

Silent disco is when there's a DJ playing music to wireless headphones that the guests wear.

It appears that there is no way to file a noise permit for a private event in the county. It's out in wine/farm country about a 45 minute drive to the nearest bar, so that's not a great option for us.

Neither my fiance nor I have ever been to a wedding, but from reading online it sounds like it's expected to be a 6-hour affair? 30 min for ceremony, 1-2 hr for cocktail hour/photos, 1 hr for dinner, and then 2.5 hr dancing with 30 min for send-off and leaving. Does that sound right? If so, we're talking a 3:30 pm arrival time for guests, which just seems so wrong to me.
