Signature Drink

Tara, on July 26, 2014 at 12:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

I need help. My fiance and I do not drink much. We aren't very knowledgable in the drink area at all...just what tastes good. I know we're looking for something fruity. The color we're looking for is red and our theme is music. We have house liquor. Any suggestions anyone for a name and drink? We tried those websites that go by color but those drinks are crazy LOL. Thanks so much.

Why not go to a bar and ask the bartender to make some tasty fruity red drinks as a date night and see what you like? You can name the drink whatever you like once you have the recipe to match your music theme.

A fun red drink is a grown-up Shirley Temple. It's just a regular Shirley Temple but with vodka added in. It's fizzy and fruity. You could name it whatever you'd like.

We're having two signature drinks, one for me and one for him, and mine is just champagne, orange juice and a splash of grenadine! So it's red on the bottom because the grenadine sinks, then orange at the top. It's technically called a "red cedar sunset" but you could change the name to whatever you want...we picked it because it tastes awesome and doesn't have any sort of complicated ingredients, cause our venue is BYOB and we're buying our own alcohol! Idk if you want a whole red drink, but this could be an option Smiley smile it's super easy!

Only red drink I know...and love is called a cherry vodka sour. I don't know where you live though but I was recently in Chicago and they had noooo idea what that was lol but from what I know, I think any sort of drink can turn red if you add grenadine to it which also helps with the sweetness.

But I agree with PR, you can name your drink whatever you want so it matches your music theme.

I also like "Dirty Shirleys". You could call it Love Potion #9.

Thank you ladies for the suggestions. I wish we had the time to go on a date night before the wedding. It's on Saturday and this was kind of our last thing to do. I work second shift and my fiance works first, so we have very minimal time. It's horrible. The "Dirty Shirley" was the one idea we did have. It's something we both like. I had joked about a shirley temple and then found the one with alcohol. I just wanted to check if there were others out there too. All the others sound great as well. Thank you all.

Depending on the shade of red you want, some sangrias can be made with a mix of dark & blush wines, mixers, etc to look more red. And the core of sangria (well, besides the wine) is fruit!!

I'm not having a signature drink at my reception but while me & my girls are getting ready we're going to have mimosas.

Maybe talk with the bartender at your venue to she if he/she can come up with something.

I agree with the ladies that a dirty Shirley would be a great option. And Caylin's idea for naming it Love Potion #9 is wonderful!!

You all have great ideas. I wish i could try them all, but I'm sitting at work. I am emailing back and forth with my coordinator at our venue. We're definitely getting somewhere. Love the fruity ideas Smiley smile
