Signature Cocktail

Stephanie, on October 24, 2019 at 5:02 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Is anyone doing a signature cocktail? My wedding is in 2.5 weeks (gosh that feels weird to say that! Lol) and I am supplying my own alcohol liquor and mixers. As there is only one bar area with 2 bartenders for 100 people, the venue recommends that we have a signature drink so they can get to people faster. Can anyone recommend a signature drink or tell me what you're doing? If it helps, my colors are rose gold and burgundy and I'm trying to incorporate the infinity symbol as sort of a theme.

Also, what do you think are the most popular hard liquors and mixers?

We're doing Jack and Coke and a Blushing Bride (champagne, strawberry vodka, cranberry.) We thought it would be best to go with one light liquor and one dark to appeal to the most guests. Drink preferences really depend on your crowd. We live in Kentucky so bourbon is huge here. Vodka and Sprite is also super popular among our friend group.

I don't drink, but we had a signature drink. Ours was a red Sangria. My husband drinks so he is the one that picked it. We are friends with two bartends and we gave them the list of alcohol our venue was providing and they made different drinks for him to try. We wanted to do something red since that was one of our colors and he liked the Sangria the best. Our friends wrote down all of the ingredients they used and how much of each and we gave that to our event coordinator at our venue. Our guests said it was really good. We gave it a cute name which was Party Over Thayer. Thayer is my husband's last name and my new last name so we thought it was a cute play on his name. As for drinks that are popular it really depends on where you live and your crowd. Everyone likes something different.

We're doing a dirty martini since that's our favorite drink (named after our dog lol) and "Love Potion" which is whiskey, ginger ale and splash of bitters. I agree with going with one light and one dark liquor if possible.

We are doing a Rum bucket since I wanted something with coconut and he wanted something with rum lol. We are calling it "enchanted rose" Since our theme is Beauty and the Beast. Its only going to have light rum, spiced rum, coconut rum, grenadine and pineapple juice.

We are doing a girly/fruity/punchy option and then a more basic no frills cocktail (probably like a whiskey cider or something). We wanted to have something that would appeal to almost every drinker. We are having 2 beer options, a white wine, a red wine and then the 2 signature cocktails.
