Side Do to the Left or Right?

Kimberly, on December 14, 2022 at 4:33 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 4
So I realize I don’t have to worry about this at all yet, but I’ve been fixated on this question for like a month now. I’m wearing my hair swept to the side because my dress is going to have a gorgeous lacy back that I don’t want to cover up (hopefully, anyway, it’s currently being made). I got a cherry blossom bridal comb on the side where my hair is, but which side should that be?!? If it’s on the left side, then during the ceremony it won’t be visible because my right side will be facing the audience. But then I feel like the rest of the time most of the pictures will have my left side showing more to showcase my rings. Anyone else do a side do or planning to do one and have a side preference? I am planning to get smaller flowers and gems that I’ve found on Etsy to supplement my comb, but I don’t know if those will be on my “non-hair” side or just integrated into my hair yet.

My two cents is that it’s fine to be hidden during the ceremony as this is usually a shorter period of time. Your staged photos will usually have you show your left side more, but candids during cake and dancing will vary. I think it’s good either way. If there’s a side that is more comfortable for you, I’d go that way

My hair has a natural side part so I can only ever wear my hair to one side. Maybe see which side looks best with your facial features and go with that way.

I wouldn’t worry about ceremony. My photographer was moving around so much and got shots from behind the altar, behind my husband, behind me, etc…. so my hair was captured from all diff angles.

    Good luck!!

Agree with the advice. I’d go with whichever side looks better on you and not worry about which way it’ll be facing during the ceremony. People tend to have one side that looks a little better with the part going that way (I know I do). If you like both, then sure, why not go with what will look best during the ceremony!
