Shrug, sweater or fur jacket

Heather, on October 11, 2016 at 8:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Our wedding is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It usually gets pretty chilly late November. I know we will be taking pics out on the terrace since the venue faces the ocean. I'm not sure what to where over my dress. I have seen some shrugs, sweaters, wraps, bolero jackets on Etsy but I'm afraid of the quality. I have already spent a fortune on my dress so I really don't want to even look at the bridal shop for one. Any suggestions?

Can you post a photo of your dress?

I got a great fur shrug on eBay for $12. I have lots of (faux) fur coats and vests and the eBay one is just as nice at $100+ ones I've gotten at Macy's and such.

It's strapless so concerned I'm going to be cold when we have cocktail hr. & pics outside.

I found this little lace shrug on Amazon at the last minute. It was perfect and kept me warm. We were married in November and it was about 55 degrees and a little windy outside. I was freezing by the end of our portraits photo shoot, but I wouldn't change a thing.

Your dress is beautiful. I ordered fur wraps on Amazon for my bridesmaids and they were good quality. They're currently out though. Where do you live? Would it be cold enough for a cape? There's a poster here who bought a cape from Etsy and it was gorgeous on her.

As a sidenote, if it's that chilly, I would consider holding cocktail hour indoors.

I've found a lot on Etsy. I'm still deciding which one I want.

I found a great white pashmina and wore that for our December Southern California wedding.

I would probably go with a pashmina or fur wrap. But if you have to wear it for a long time it might be better to have a jacket or something with sleeves so you can move a bit more.

I had a hard time finding a shrug on Etsy too. I was afraid they were going to be really poor quality. I ended up finding this one on BHLDN.com. It's Anthropologie's wedding brand. The quality is very, very good. It's not the cheapest, but I felt it was totally worth it.
