Showing off - my FH's Barong Tagalog

DA, on April 5, 2016 at 4:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Just so happy that my FH (he's Italian/American) is wearing a Barong Tagalog (Filipino formal shirt) for our wedding. We had it custom made and the fabric is made of Pineapple Fiber.

What do you think?

If he's Italian American why is he wearing a Filipino formal shirt.

My fiancé is Filipino, and the entire wedding party as well as him will be wearing Barongs. His uncle is getting him a custom one from the Philippines, I am so excited to see it! Your FH's looks great!

I also clicked on this post with some slight trepidation about what I might see, but am glad to learn that a Barong is a shirt. It looks great!

    Very nice! Smiley smile

Barong Tagalogs are Filipino men's formal wear (Philippines = HOT & HUMID). Traditionally made of pineapple fibers with lots of intricate embroidery. My brother-in-law (who isn't Filipino) wore a tux during their wedding ceremony and a barong Tagalog for the reception - a lot more comfortable than a three-piece suit, but still considered formal.

My FH (non-Filipino), BIL(non-Filipino), son, and nephew will also be wearing barongs at the reception, and tuxes during the ceremony.

I was in the Philippines on vacation in January and was able to pick them up. FH looks so handsome in his!
