Showing a slideshow-best time to show it during reception? Any ideas?

I'm working with several couple's incorporating a slide show into their receptions this year. The cocktail hour is a great time to let it run and loop, especially since it's only 8 minutes.

Another optimal time is during dinner; start it up after everyone has been served their first course, if you're doing a buffet start it after the last table has returned from the buffet...this way everyone is seated and it can be a bit of a conversation starter for those guests who do not know each other.

One of my couple's is holding off and having it run during their first dance...since it's longer then one song it will continue to play during the father/daughter and mother/son dances...which I think is even better then during dinner as most guests will already be focused on the couple and the stage/dance floor area and no one has to turn awkwardly in their seat to see it...well no more so then they would already be doing do to see the dancing.

Thanks a bunch.......I am leaning more and more towards teh cocktail hour...

I will be doing two slideshows. One starting during the cocktail hour that will include family and friends and will be played on a Plasma TV and will run the entire night. The other slideshow will be during the reception (maybe during our fist dance, not sure) and that will be of the two of us.

Definetely during the FIRST dance!!

Like Dream Day Weddings said... Cocktail hour, or whatever you're calling it is best. The wedding party is likely away getting photographs done at this point. It helps pass the time while they're gone, and gives you some additional peace of mind to not rush back. Trust me, at the time, no one wants to take the time for photos.

We are doing on during the dinner. I thought of doing it for the cocktail housr but we won't be there to be able to see it. So we thought the next best things was during the dinner.
