Shower/Bachelorette invitation question

krisalicious, on February 6, 2012 at 8:00 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

Hello!

So my lovely BMs are throwing me a combination shower/bachelorette party back home in CO. Both events are taking place on the same day b/c several people are travelling in from OOT, myself included. They are sending a regular invitation for the shower, and adding an insert card about the b-party.

One of them just called me to ask about the wording for the insert card. Here's the dillio:

The shower is a hosted brunch at a nice restaurant. The BMs are paying for everyone who attends.

The b-party is going to kick off with dinner, but the dinner is not hosted, b/c my BMs cannot afford to feed 20 people twice in one day. Smiley smile I wouldn't expect that as a guest, but they want to word the insert so people know that dinner is at their own expense.

Is there a polite way to word that? "The celebration continues at a non-hosted dinner at Whatever Restaurant, 1234 Main Street" is kind of what they have now.

Thoughts?

Please and thank you!

Kris, any chance your girls could arrange a prefixed dinner menu and just include that price on the B invite?

Its time for the girls to mix and mingle,

While Kris spends her last days single!

Join us for dinner, drinks and dancing too,

Before she walks down the isle to say "I do"

I thought that was cute just wanted to share.....honestly I think most people know that they have to pay for themselves at a Bachelorette party.

    I also like:

Join us for one last fling before the ring.

Meet at Whatever restaurant for dinner and cocktails followed by bachelorette party festivitis.

    Josie that is adorable wording!

Marie I have no idea what they have planned for dinner.....I don't even know the restaurants they've picked, they're trying to keep it a surprise. Smiley smile

    Thank you!
