Shower invite

Emma, on May 19, 2020 at 12:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
My maid of honor was asking me if we should do a Facebook event for my bridal shower to make it easier if we need to change anything do to covid. She is planning but my parents are hosting so she asks my opinion on a lot of things. I’ve seen lots of people do them for baby showers, but not for bridal showers. Everyone that will be invited has and is active on Facebook. She’s a college student and is doing her best to save money while still hosting an awesome shower and it’d be free to do it that way. Another option is online invites that are texted, emailed or sent through Facebook. What do you think?

One of my bridesmaids did a digital invite for one of my showers. They were super cute and convenient for everyone. This was a shower for just my core group of friends, so everyone is younger and tech savvy, so it worked. I prefer this option to a Facebook invite because I feel it is more personal, plus, you can actually customize and invitation and make it pretty.

My other showers had physical invitations that were mailed, which I actually prefer overall.

I have been invited to bridal showers through facebook event due to them being college age people (mid 20s). It was less formal, but It was also easier. Smiley smile

I would highly recommend Paperless Post for electronic invites

I saw a baby shower this way. A friend was outside the door with the presents, they decorated inside (balloons, flowers, snacks, cupcakes, etc.). The took some pic looking in window but it was mostly live inside. I believe Zoom worked better because of being able to interact more. They still did some games, open gifts, etc. It was cute.

My only caution against a FB event is that we just tried to have one for my birthday.

Their video chat system was really wonky, only worked on one browser, and was hard to hear everyone. We ended up switching platforms.

Other than that, I don't see a problem with a social media/evite kind of thing!

We’re doing a in person shower. Where I am at they are lifting things and by the time of my shower we should be able to have 25-50 people gatherings. We’re just trying to decide how to do the invites. Using Facebook would help in the case of having to update everyone if we have a spike and have to reschedule.

We are doing it in person. Just trying to figure out if we should use Facebook for the invites or evites
