Show Me Your Non Diamond Engagement Rings!

I also have a sapphire engagement ring. We’ve been engaged since January, and I still can’t stop looking at it (Looking forward to wearing the matching wedding band in April!).

Awww, sweet. These are beautiful. I love diamonds, but I always knew I wanted a pink stone.

My central stone is a natural peach sapphire from Ceylon - these are also called padparadscha sapphires, and they have flashes of orange/yellow as well as pink depending on the light/angle. This shade of almost 'neutral' pink is my absolute favourite.

My mother also has a non-diamond engagement ring - it's an antique ruby and pearl ring from the 1860s. I absolutely love it and it definitely did have an impact on me feeling like it was 'ok' to have a non-diamond engagement ring:

I also got engaged November 16th 2021!!!!!

It wasn't too soon after I met my now fiance that I realized I would want something different in my engagement ring. The thought of a diamond just seemed off and not my style. Pinterest helped me realize that I wanted a Swiss Blue Topaz as my center stone (the color blue has always been my favorite, particularly that shade). I found several examples on that I loved, but my fiance being the wise man he is- knew if he got me something I found online, it might not live up to my expectations. So he found THE PERFECT RING! It didn't take long for me to become obsessed.

Mine is a heart-shaped pink sapphire! I have diamonds going around the band along with rose gold my favorite color is pink and my birthday is on Valentine’s Day, so I wanted an engagement ring to represent both of those elements. I love it!

My fiancé proposed to me in July the weekend before my birthday. We had talks of getting married and looked at rings in person late 2020 to see what I wanted. The jamesallen ring I originally wanted was almost 8k. So, I didn’t think I’d want anything else. But I started realizing I didn’t want him to be spending that much on a ring when we are saving for a house. Then in 2021 I came across an Etsy seller that had a beautiful radiant cut moissanite ring I loved. I reached out to ask about customizing to look like a jamesallen ring I referenced (an emerald with a halo) but with a radiant cut moissanite. He said he could do it for a fraction of the price! So, I just sent the info to my fiancé in like march/April but I didn’t think he’d get it and propose months later! I’m so in love with it and I’m glad we saved money.

These are all so gorgeous 😭😭

We went with moissanite - I wanted colorless but neither of us wanted a diamond! Also, I was able to get a stone that I felt went with the size of my hand without breaking the bank 😅

Mine is a simulated diamond (which I am assuming means CZ)! WAY cheaper than an actual diamond, and we liked that it was lab-made.

I'm sorry I just had major surgery on March 3rd so I'm still all bruises up from all the ivs and needles etc. My hubby got me this orange sapphire because I pretty ugh have realized I collect sapphire rings, and the only orange I have of sapphire are teeny tiny accent stones on a topaz ring. Yes this is a lab made stone and the side stones are moissanite on a rose gold band. Loving how it works with my wedding bands 💕

Here’s my set! I got a heart-shaped pink sapphire! I was lucky that my fiancé let me pick and design my engagement ring!
