Show Me Your Grand Exits!

MrsD, on May 10, 2019 at 11:10 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 21

We met with our wedding coordinator who asked about our grand exit (I hadn't thought about it at all). Our venue doesn't allow sparklers (we are in Colorado so any kind of fire isn't going to work) or things to be thrown on the ground (it's a working equestrian center so lots of animals that could potentially eat something they shouldn't, etc.).

Do you have any other ideas?

Hmm, maybe bubbles? Could get a little messy lol but that’s the only thing I can think of!

That's the only other idea I could think of! We have a lot of "manly" men coming from my father's side and my fiance's friends so I'm not 100% sure they have ever blown a bubble hahahahaha! I was just seeing if there were other options but bubbles are for sure in the running!

If we through rose petals (even during the ceremony) we have to pick up each individual petal so we are trying to avoid that hahaha!

The only other thing I can think of is ringing bells, but it’s not super photogenic.

True! I saw little cowbells, so I thought that would be cute for the videographer but not so much the photographer!

Bubbles have become popular. Its also pretty cute! Glitter makes a mess but you could also look into that. I think there are some companies that sell like biodegradable glitter and confetti. At least that's what I have heard! Smiley smile If it was a fall wedding I would suggest leaves. I have seen that turn out well.

I'm not sure our venue would let us throw it but I will check to see if biodegradable is okay!! Good idea.

We're in a very similar situation (horse ranch in California) but thankfully they allow real rose petals, so we're doing that. Other cute ideas I've seen are ribbon wands, or balloons - a friend of mine who did balloons used tulle instead of string for the balloons so it looked extra bridal. I've also heard people have made confetti from leaves with hole punches, but that sounds like a lot of work haha.

So everyone held the balloons? Cute! Yeah if we do rose petals we have to pick all of them up and they can only be white. Same for confetti about picking it up unfortunately.
