Show me your flower girl/junior bridesmaids dresses PLEASE!

Laura, on October 6, 2014 at 6:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

My flower girl is older and is a size 16 in girls. I was wanted her to have a deep purple dress, I am having the HARDEST time finding a deep purple dress that goes past 14 and isn't more than $75. Her mom can't afford to buy a dress that is more expensive and frankly I don't blame her. She also won't let me pay for it. I am thinking maybe now it would be better to have her in ivory like me? Do they need to be similar in fabric to the bridal party? What did yours wear?

David's Bridal has a couple that come in dark purple in that size. My junior bridesmaids are wearing purple, as well, in order to match the bridesmaids (but wearing kids' dresses so as to be age appropriate)

Here's my flower girl, she's wearing a dress that FH's sister wore as a flower girl when the parents of our flower girl got married (if that makes sense). It was free, fit her perfectly, so I didn't really care about the rest. I may get her a colored sash or something. It's a different material than my dress though. Here's her dress and my dress for comparison.

My daughter wears a size 16. She is going to be a jr. bridesmaid (but could pass as an older flower girl) she weighs 94 lbs and is 4'8" in height (she is 21 yrs old! - her aunts are all tiny - also she has Down Syndrome with history of heart disease, and this could be another reason why she is so small). That is all beside the point - have you tried Macys.com? I have gotten her BEAUTIFUL holiday dresses worthy of wedding attire through their online site under "kids/children's dresses" - so gorgeous that they could be wedding material. She is a student at the Boston Ballet (Adaptive Dance Program) and we attend the Nutcracker every year - these dresses are absolutely beautiful and around $50-$75. Worth a shot! And they have sizes 16.

My FGs were ages 7 and 8. The girl on the left, is nearly 5' tall, and wears a size 14-16. She is 8 years old. Obviously, she is going to be very tall like her dad.

I had the HARDEST time finding a dress for her and her sister. I ended up finding them at Nordstrom's for $40. You'll find one, just keep looking!

It's hard. I love the Alexia Junior Bridesmaid dresses, but they start around $100, I think. I really could't find one in the color I wanted that was cheaper than that.

I also am having older flowers girls, 6, 7, and 8, so I like looking at these dresses. I can't decide if I want them to go for the flower girl look or more of a junior bridesmaid look. I want them to still feel special and like flower girls but I also don't want them to feel like they look to young, it will be a challenge thats for sure!

Thanks everyone! I hadn't thought about Nordstroms so I am definitely going to try that... I found this one online for $50, and it is purple, which is what I am going for. Thoughts? Is this good for a 9 year old? All my bridesmaids are in chiffon so I thought this might look ok...

My Junior bridesmaid actually wore a women's dress from Alfred Angelo and had it tailored to fit her. I think that her mother bought it from a consignment shop so it wasn't too expensive?
