Show me your centerpieces!

Dacia, on October 14, 2019 at 4:58 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20
I can’t seem to figure out centerpieces! Pinterest has a lot of ideas but then it also doesn’t. I don’t want burlap. My colors are blush and gold.

We’re doing lanterns with flowers, greenery, and candles.

That’s so pretty! Where did you find your lanterns? Every time I look, they’re very expensive

We got ours on sale at Michael’s for about $12 each. If the date in your profile is correct, you could wait for a sale at michael’s or hobby lobby to buy. You could also checkout Facebook marketplace, tons of couples sell their centerpieces there when they’re finished with them.

It is. I’ve just been wracking my brain for months now so I want to get an idea. I’ve looked on marketplace but rustic is super popular around here so I’m having trouble finding otherwise. I’ll keep an eye on those places though

We're doing candles in vases, 3 per table (3 different heights), probably sitting on a mirror. Flowers are too expensive, and so I decided to do all candles. There will be colored stones in the bottom of each vase, and then a candle in each, grouped together. I'm hoping for purple stones with either white or gray/silver candles. But I may end up with silver stones and purple candles.

You have time to wait for good sales. I'm waiting for Black Friday. That should be when prices are at their lowest.

These were ours - not your colors but could totally see the same thing with your color scheme!

This is our mock up. Our colors are the same as yours, I found some different odds and ends at thrift stores and spray painted them rose gold and gold, then got wine bottles and did the same but covered some in glitter. We're doing greenery (mostly eucalyptus) sticking out of the bottles.

Yeah flowers, even fake, have been pricey. I’ve been playing with the candle idea

These are my centerpieces... we had 3 different designs and our head table had it's own decorations. We got married the end of November. Our colors were red and navy blue with gold accents and we chose very fall flowers. I absolutely loved how these turned out and the how the different centerpieces added depth and dimension to the room. The tall gold vases had baby's breath on top for the reception (brought up from the ceremony).

The ones on google and yours are so pretty! I love the idea of spray painting mason jars too but then couldn’t think of anything else to go with it. Thank you so much!

Decided to go with wine bottles! Tour picture inspired me a lot. I’ve looked on google for how to paint them but was wondering what you did?

I spent quite awhile cleaning them first. Taking the labels off was a huge chunk of time (look up using the oven, I dont want quite remember the heat setting and would hate to give the wrong number) eventually we used the oven and most of the labels peeled right off. Once they were clean and completely dry (take the extra time and really let them dry, I rushed it and had to repaint some because of water spills) we painted with my chosen spray paint.
I just held stuck my finger in the top and spun the bottle while spraying evenly, thin coats are better. They are not super durable, but we added a top coat to some and they held up better. I ended up repainting a few a few weeks before the wedding.

If you're planning to use glitter, mod podge worked better than spray adhesive and 1000% coat these with a top coat. Spray paint them first, with whatever color is closest to your glitter color ( we did champagne glitter and gold spray paint), it helps the glitter go farther.

Get wine bottle boxes ( the ones with the dividers) the bottles hitting eachorger caused the most scratches) I tried to minimize scratches, but they happen. Just remember you can spin bottles to hide them when you arrange the centerpieces.

Plan a little before starting. I put all my bottles together, separated them by shape, and then made three groups trying to evenly incorporate each shape. That way I didnt wnd up with a table full of one shape or color. All the odd shapes ones got

It was a lot of work, but I started early and used the time making them to just enjoy some time with my mom the wedding was yesterday and we got lots of amazing comments on how gorgeous everything was.
