Finding newer or smaller name designers can be a plus because they might be more willing to work with lower budgets. I am a fashion student and my recently graduated friend is making the dress I designed. It's harder to start off as a designer so I know that there are some who are willing to work with different budget to get that experience.

A little over- mine was $599 from DB! You can definitely find something without breaking the bank

I initially had a $1200 budget. I managed to find the perfect dress for $830. I would only need to have alterations on the chest/arm area to fit my shape.

@wifeytobejuly17, I bought it from DressilyMe.com, the designer is AdasBridal it is stunning and you can order custom made to fit you perfect mine fits like a glove !!! Took 28days to get it here but I live in washington state !! Here is picture of it on in person it's not all the way tied tight in the back!!! Good luck i hope you get the dress of your dreams!!!

That was my budget and what I said I wanted to spend and ended up with a $1400 dress that I couldn't imagine anything to wear for that day. I wish you great luck in sticking to that budget because it was hard for me but sometimes the extra is worth it.

This was $490 at Saks! It's not technically a wedding dress (it's "champagne", not "ivory") but I don't have a lot of other occasions to wear dramatic beaded gowns, so...

There were a couple times I second-guessed it, partly because I didn't have family with me when I first found it (hence the changing room shot).

But every time I look at at, I'm in love!
