Should I wear a tiara?

Adoretamm, on November 6, 2015 at 10:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

I have a ball gown and I've always wondered if it'll make me look like I'm having a sweet 16 vs being a bride. What are your thoughts on tiaras?

I loved mine, It was purchased from the bridal shop and was the "crown jewel" to my look.

Why not? It's your day and if you want to wear one just go for it. I know many people that have at their wedding and they look absolutely stunning and I'm sure you will too ^_^

@Susan do you have a closeup of your tiara that you can share? @Michelle I just don't want to look 16, I love them though! Smiley smile

This was taken at the shop when I picked it out. It was not cheap (like $140) but I scrimped and saved and worked OT to pay the wedding and I treated myself!

I found it at the bridal shop that I purchased my dress. I can find the designer for you if you want the information.

I'll post a photo of the one I bought to wear. Just a warning though -- you want to attach your veil to it. Otherwise, with a full-length ball gown, you'll look like you just won a beauty pageant, as I quickly discovered before I grabbed a veil. LOL

I am usually not a fan of tiaras on brides, but @Elizabeth that is so pretty. They aren't everyone's style, but if you want to wear one, go for it!

I woudn't. Tiaras are pretty outdated and yes a little too prom-ish.

I'm wearing my hair like picture below with a small tiara! I think if the tiara is dainty it looks more classy than promish. I definitely wouldn't wear a full sized one.

Wear whatever you want! Most women do not have the opportunity to feel like a queen except on our wedding day. If you want to go all out with a tiara, then go for it! Don't feel obligated to wear a veil if you don't want to wear one.

It's totally your choice. I'm not a tiara person and didn't want a veil, so I'm going with a headband. If you want a tiara, I think it a matter of deciding if you want to do what Elizabeth mentioned with the veil or what Jamie mentioned with the updo and smaller tiara. I agree that those are good ways to make you feel more like a bride and less like prom. I think which tiara you get will also help with that distinction.
