Should i wear a dress for rehearsal that is similar to the my wedding dress to practice walking down the aisle?

Obviously I am not wearing a dress that is a wedding dress to the my rehearsal. I know to wear something nice, a little more dressed up. But for the brides that have their wedding dress with a lot of poof if maybe I should wear a dress that floor length or a dress that has a slight body to the skirt in order to see how walking would be at my venue. I have a long train and a LOT OF POOF that I want to practice walking in a dress that is similar at my venue to see with their flooring how much a dress will drag. Has anyone done this? What would you all recommend or wish you did do for something like this?

I’ve always heard that it was bad luck for the bride to rehearse the wedding. When I’ve been to a rehearsal, a “stunt bride” is used and the bride is able to walk around and see how things work from different perspectives.

If you have a really poofy dress, it’s probably worth trying out walking in it, or something similar, at some point. But if it’s just long, I don’t think you’d need to practice that part.

I don’t believe in superstition. I am definitely going to rehearse walking down the aisle and have someone fill in for me to see how to do things. Regardless I am just seeing what has someone worn for rehearsal by those that have rehearsed walking down the aisle.
and if anyone has tips for walking in a dress that is long and poofy? I have a ballgown wedding dress

If you're worried about walking in the dress, then I would say to practice at home.

Also, you will have your dress on for a few hours before the wedding, so you will have a chance day of to be walking in it and getting comfortable.

It might be too late, but a hoopskirt makes a poofy dress way easier to walk in because it keeps the fabric off your legs and feet, so even a small hoop skirt from amazon can help with making it comfortable and easy!

If you have a soft fabric ballgown, kick out your leg fully with each step so the fabric doesn't fall between your legs. Jean_nie Mai discusses this in her youtube videos of her own wedding dress.

I wouldn’t worry about this. I think the key is to pick a dress you know you can walk in from the beginning. If you’re still worried, try walking in it again after alterations or at home.

This doesn’t make any sense. Did you not move around in the dress while trying it on before purchasing to see if you can walk/sit/bend/dance/etc without restrictions? If, when you are dress shopping at local stores, you can’t move in the dress easily at all, keep looking until you find one that you can move in. That is a major reason why reception dresses are so popular currently, and contributes to wedding budgets being higher, because every extra expense adds up.

If the dress doesn’t fit properly, that is the fault of the consumer not the store, and that of the seamstress who didn’t bother to make sure it fits. It’s popular to blame the vendors but not all snafus are created by them.
It’s very common to wear a sundress or nice top and jeans depending on your social circle’s norms. In some social circles, the bride doesn’t wear a dress of any kind and she may choose not to wear any white, despite its popularity online as ^the^ color for all wedding events.

    That’s true. I didn’t think about that.

Unfortunately, my dress has a slit in it. Otherwise, a hoop skirt would be a great idea. I wonder if that would still be possivlr
