should I put reception end time on the invitation?

Ab, on July 24, 2011 at 8:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Greetings my fellow WWers!

I was wondering if you all are putting your reception end time on the invitations..I've never really seen this done, but was thinking I should "5 o'clock until ten o'clock in the evening." would that be odd, or do people generally know it's 5 hours long..Although I wanted to be sure OOT guests don't leave early/or at least so they can plan ahead if they are driving back home..thoughts?

Thanks!

I didn't put it on mine, I figure the DJ could start with the announcing if people are still their around 10:30 (reception starts at 6) so that by 11pm everyone is out.

NO I think actually it is an ettiquette issue ... it starts at 5 then ends at 10ish? The last dance will be right around 9:45ish then people will start to file out anyway. Dont worry the DJ and or Emcee will take care of the timeline I am sure! =]

I don't think you need to put it on there, but you could have a program for the guests on the day of so they know what time to expect the wedding to end. It also gives people a heads up for when things will happen Smiley smile

Ya, you are right. I asked my dad and he said people will just find out..plus maybe we'll want to extend it or something if it's still going strong lol.

Nope, you don't put an end time on the invitation. You just put the start time and then people can usually figure it out from there.
