I don't know how much of a benefit for making a hashtag is? Is it worth it and if so, how do i make one?

We personally didn't do one. Most our friends have private instagrams or facebooks, and we don't use twitter. So if they used the hashtag and we weren't friends on social media, we wouldn't see it anyway. And if we were friends with them, they would just tag us so the hashtag seemed repetitive.

I've been back and forth on this too. I wanted one because I think they're cute, but I don't see any of our guests using them, they'll just post photos on Facebook and tag us in them. If you have big social media people who use hashtags on Facebook and Instagram, it's a nice idea to have something everyone can put in their captions so all the photos will be in one place.

If you do decide that you want one, there is a hashtag generator on WeddingWire, but a lot of people will post asking for the ladies here to come up with something creative. Often with your new last name (if you're taking FH's) or a specific theme Smiley smile Hope this helps!

We chose to do hashtags for a couple of reasons. 1. We are going from very simple names we have each had for 20+ years to a hyphenated name that is quite a bit longer and more difficult to remember. 2. We want pictures of our guests but are realistic that not every shot the photographer takes is going to be a winner. This way our guests can use the hashtag and we can see the pictures on social media.

If you want one, something cute with your name or the time of year you're getting married is often the way to go. But if you have another option, there are no real rules.

We aren't having a hashtag. I see the purpose of them, but FH and I just aren't big into hashtag culture Smiley laugh

We had a hashtag and only 1 person actually used it. Smiley xd Most people just tagged us. So if you can think of a cute one and want to use it I'd say go for it but it's not worth killing yourself over.
