Should i join Ww?

Valerie, on May 17, 2020 at 9:26 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 7
My upcoming wedding will most likely be postponed till next year. Trying to stay positive and look at the bright side. Buys me some time to slim down.

Most people tell me I’m crazy for wanting to lose weight. I’m 5’6” and weigh about 140 and I’m 28. My weight goes up about 3 pounds and down about 1. I don’t feel great about myself. I even sized up when I ordered my gown because I was between sizes because I know myself. I have no self control when it comes to sweets. My hubby eats like crap and it’s so difficult to discipline myself because he isn’t very supportive of weight loss or eating healthy.
I am just wondering if anyone thinks WW could be good motivation for me to lose 15 pounds. I just want to get rid of my muffin top and random fat I have accumulated in the last 5 years. I used to be able to wear more fitted dresses but I swear I look like I’m pregnant in most dresses. Is ww for me or is it for someone trying to lose significantly more weight?

I haven’t but my FH is an athlete but he doesn’t really help me as far as trying to lose weight. I’m the one that likes to eat bad so I decided to hiring a personal training that also dose meal plans as well for a reasonable price. I think you should give it a try and once you FH see you losing weight he might one to join you as well it’s hard when you don’t have the support I totally understand where you coming from. P.s my FH doesn’t want me to spent the money but I’m doing for me not anyone else you have to make yourself happy besides finding happiness in your FH because you might end up disappointed at times.

I have never used Weight Watchers, but I don't think there's any rule about how much weight you want to lose. You can also try free options like MyFitnessPal. I have found that when you're diligent about tracking your food, you start paying more attention to how much you're eating and how much it "costs," as well as the amount of calories burned per specific exercises. As long as it's a healthy approach (and not something like purely starving yourself), any option that helps you engage with better eating/exercise habits is good. I don't think there is any weight loss program ever (outside of bariatric surgery and the like) that will say you don't have enough weight to lose to join.

If you do join just be sure its for you and not for your wedding because then what happens after. You want to be sure you stay motivated afterwards. Anyway, your future hubby has already accepted you as you are so losing weight for the wedding probably won't matter to him. Do it for you is all I am trying to say. Good luck!

I’ve been using the Noom app and I really like it so far! I’m not sure if they’re still running a two-week free trial, but I do think it’s worth the price (can’t remember how much off the top of my head. It provides food tracking, daily psych tricks, and a daily step goal. You also get accountability from a goal coach and a group.

I agree - MyFitnessPal is super helpful and pretty eye opening to actually count calories. It can sync with your Fitbit also if you have one. Everything is about burning more calories than you’re eating.

Hi Love! WW does work for a lot of people but also doesn't often teach you much about food because it assigns point values to food. This causes you to depend on this system to maintain your weight-loss. I would download a calorie or macro tracker like My Fitness Pal and see where you are at calorie wise. It will tell you where you should be at calorie wise as a guide. Also for over-all toning and body fat, resistance training with bands and weights will be your best friend and will give you the best and most sustainable results.
