Should i invite my boss/coworkers?

Elizabeth , on July 9, 2019 at 8:30 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
So I know this question gets asked a lot but my situation is kind of weird. I work for a small (13 people) business and we all work remotely. I’m getting married in Massachusetts. Here’s the breakdown, excluding me:

2 in Massachusetts
3 in Arizona, including my direct boss
2 in Colorado - the president, who hired me in the first place, and the coworker I’m closest to
3 in Georgia, including my old boss
1 in Texas
1 in California

If I invite any of them do I need to invite all of them? Should I invite any of them?

Thanks in advance!

I only Invited the coworkers I spend Time with outside of work. It’s respectful I suppose but unless you have a good relationship with them I would think about if you want to let them in your life like that.

I invited my close colleagues and not my boss. My FW invited her boss but they have a good relationship. I’ve read tons on this and ultimately you should do what you want to do. You’ll be married for life and not with that company for life (probably) so I think it’s fine to skip the invites

I agree with PPs. I think your best bet is to invite only the ones you have the closest friendships with!

Mostly, I’d skip inviting co-workers because it seems like an awkward invite. The exception is if you’re friends outside of work. Just invite that co-worker (or two).
