Should I invite my BF's sister to my hen's night?

Zyng, on April 29, 2010 at 5:23 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Hi all, wondering if I should invite my partner's sister to my hen's. She's much older than me and my friends (I'm 35 and my friends are that age or younger, she's 45) and in a totally different place, even mentally. My friends are used to going out and having a good time, she's a home maker and has always been the 'good girl' type... I have nothing against her but I want to be relaxed at my hen's night and not worrying about whether someone else is having a good time. On the other hand I don't want to offend her... Also, her husband's brother is getting married some months after us and his fiancee' is also the good girl type so I'm sure she'll be invited to her hen's night... Help! Smiley smile

I suggest that you extend the invitation and let her decide. That way you have made the offer and no one will be offended.

I agree with Fran you should definately extend the invite and let her decide whether or not to go. :-)

Even the good girl types can have a wild side and the fact that she is a homemaker does not mean a thing I work from home so that I can be a "homemaker" and let me tell you sometimes I really need to get OUT! You may get a big surprise as she may turn out to be the life of the party

Thanks for your suggestions, I have in fact asked my friends to extend the invite to her. Color of love, by home maker, I don't mean it literally, she's actually a Headmistress Smiley smile But she and her husband don't have much of a social life, that's what I meant...
