should i have my son walk me down the aisle???

I was thinking the same thing, my father is deceased. My son is also six.

I do not think it is anymore for a 6 yr old to walk you down the aisle than it is for him to be a ring bearer and have to walk down alone and also stand there, this way, once you both are there, you can give him a kiss and he can sit with your mom or whoever you want him to

I'm doing this & y son is only 4. My mom will speak for them as for the giving me away part. I planned to hhold his hand & before I stand in front of my future hubby to lean over give him a kiss & tell him how much I love him. Then he will stand on my husbands side. It is important to involve your children in this event. To let them know that this is a change in the both of your lives. Let him know that he's also just as important to the wedding.

My friend's son (12) carried the ring down the aisle, slipped through the side door, and then walked his mom down the aisle. That was great!

I don't know who my dad is, and I was a single mom for years so my son is walking me down the aisle. He'll be 20 by the time I get married.

Mine will only be 18 months, but i'm thinking of having him walk me down....i think if you had your son before you were with fh, then it would be really cute. especially if he's a little older, cos it's kind of like a reverse father figure...rather than giving his daughter away, it's like he's "blessing" the fact that fh will be joining "his" household lol..like he is handing over the "man of the house" role

I think he would be honored to walk mom to the man he approves too. That means alot to a child knowing they had a big part in mom being happy.. Do it..
