Should i have introduced myself?

Laura, on October 16, 2019 at 7:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Attended Nephew's rehearsal dinner and wedding, having never met the bride or the bride's parents. Assumed there would be introductions (I am sister of said nephew/groom's deceased mother.) but I was not introduced. Should I have introduced myself? I found myself guessing and then concluding who the host/bride's parents were.

Personally I would have introduced myself if they didn’t do it.

I think formally introducing yourself next time you're all together is a good idea! Sometimes I forget to introduce myself because I'm nervous around new people. It happens, so don't feel bad Smiley smile

I dont think its a big deal, for all that matters is that you are there to support the bride and groom. I went to a wedding as my FH's girlfriend and had never met the bride who was his cousin. But she was so excited to meet me.
