Should i have a “dress Up Party”

Chelsea, on July 22, 2020 at 2:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
Hello

So I have been contemplating about this, but I think that it this would be fun to have a bridal party dress up party and have my bridesmaids put their full attire on about 2 weeks prior to the wedding and have a small thank you party. My reasoning for doing this also is because they ordered their dresses online and I want to see them before the day comes to insure a nice fit. I just want to know does this sound corny or fun? Your thoughts?

I personally think it sounds kind of fun and you can make it a whole thing with like a bridal luncheon you host to thank them

I like the idea, but I fear that something would go wrong and someone's dress would get dirty or torn. (That would be my luck). I would hope they are trying on the dresses and getting fitted before your big day anyway.

I think it's kind of cutesy and fun! Of course you could go a more simple route and ask your girls to swing by with their dresses individually so that you can take a look (and obviously still get them a gift to thank them as most brides do for their parties). Just depends on your personal preference! Good luck!

Lol, I agree! My OCD would be going crazy if I did this because things like that really happen to me. I'm petrified of any of the dresses getting messed up prior to the wedding, but a few of my girls are extremely lazy and won't get fitted for it (aggravating as all get out), so they're basically just winging it 😅

I personally wouldn’t have another event that would take up my entire bridal party’s time, especially if you’re having other pre wedding events like a bachelorette, shower, and rehearsal.

Awww. I definitely think you should do it since your bachelorette party was cancelled. They don't have to stay in the dress the entire time so it shouldn't get dirty or torn.

Yeah go for it!!! I would keep the wine, food and makeup away from the dresses. It sounds fun! I think under normal circumstances this would be a little tiresome but right now we are looking for a reason to celebrate something. Even if that means playing dress up!!! 🤣😂 have fun and good luck!

This would make me very nervous. What if something spilled on one of their outfits and was ruined?

What if you did a party where you just dressed up in nice outfits and did whatever it is you were planning on doing in your wedding attire, but have them bring their dresses just to try on and show you?

I like this idea, especially since I just saw in one of your comments your bachelorette was cancelled! You can also get non -professional looking pics this way and all your pics wont look so staged Smiley smile
